The recent increases in energy costs and the growing awareness of the impact of fossil fuel use on the global environment have focused the attention of the Sports, Fitness, Aquatic Facilities, Outdoor Sector, Spas & Wellness Sector on the need to manage their energy usage in order to control costs and remain competitive.


Following a very successful programme in 2009, ILAM in association with Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) are now implementing the second Energy Assessment & Management Programme tailored to meet the needs of the Irish Sports, Fitness, Aquatic Facilities, Outdoor Sector, Spas & WellnessSector.

Cost Saving Opportunities for the Sector’

SEAI, in partnership with ILAM has arranged a focused Energy Management applied training programme which will benefit organisations like yours. Last year, organisations across a range of sectors took part in this innovative programme and implemented energy savings ranging from 5 to 20%.


Tailored to meet the specific needs of the Leisure, Sports ,Fitness sector , this applied training programme is linked to the SEAI Energy MAP website (www.seai.ie/energymap), which is designed to assist Irish businesses reduce their energy costs.
SMEs are the main beneficiaries of SEAI’s Energy MAP. However, it is also a valuable tool for larger organisations who wish to lay the foundations for significant energy cost savings. Organisations have used the Energy MAP applied training programme as a starting point in best energy management practice before and whilst pursuing the Energy Management System IS393.
